My 11 best songs and why I love them.

1.Chandelier – Sia

If you know me, it will come as no surprise to you that this is number one of them all. I love it for two reasons. First, It’s by Sia. I am by biased in favor of and will fawn over all of Sia’s Songs.  Secondly and more importantly, It is a deep number that speaks of a mind that struggles to be oblivious of the pain that exists deep within it. It is something I can relate to for no good reason.

2.Take me to Church – Hozier

I don’t have even have an epistle to write. Just bring me Hozier for lunch, dinner and breakfast everyday.

3.Elastic Heart – Sia

Again, Sia. This song, maybe deeper than Chandelier has an underlying resilience theme that I will always fall for.

4. Feeling Good – Nina Simone

If you don’t know/love this song, you should probably ask God for forgiveness. It is one of the most serene and happy songs ever that still manages to be somewhat sad. Carly Rose Sonenclar did a cover of it that is awesome too.

5.Beautiful Pain – Eminem Ft Sia

Okay I promise, after this no more Sia-ish songs for a while. I like this one because How will you not? Listen to the lyrics.

6.Wake me Up – Avicii

Wake me up by Avicii is a song anyone who has tried to fit in and failed will relate to. When I listen to it, one overwhelming thought stands clear. Humans feel the need to be accepted; and acceptance they will seek above all else.

7.Titanium. David Guetta Ft Sia.

I’m sure by now you can tell that I’m hopelessly in love with Sia and want her babies    This song was my major crush for years after discovering it and I still adore it. If you know my history with verbal abuse and exactly how much I abhor it, you’d understand.

8.Naughty Boy – La La La ft Sam Smith

So, If you understand why I like Titanium, you’ll understand my obsession with this song. It speaks to me  in ways that I haven’t processed enough to clearly define.

9. Hotline Bling – Drake

I am very ashamed to announce that this song made it to the list. I can only ascribe credit to undue influence and peer pressure. I honestly think It’s ridiculous that I like this song (No Offence Drake) and I can not explain it. Sigh. Still, a good song.

10. Alicia Keys  – No One

This is an old song but you understand why one would get obsessive over it. It is a hopelessly optimistic/romantic song that still manages to stir the tendrils of your soul. If you think I’m exaggerating then you probably lack Ice cream. Walk into the nearest Cold Stone creamery and get some.

11. Don’t Let Me Fall – B.o.B

This song by B.o.B is both vulnerable and proud. It addresses hidden doubts and fear of failure which any normal person who is accosted by fame will feel. I mean, you know this song. 🙂

There’s more of course, But hey, I said 11 songs and I am trying to win Miss Integrity of the year 2016 so I’ll stop.

Cheers!
